Thanks for your nice comments, although I´ve been absent blogging for quite a long time.This week my first picture book ever arrived. Hardcover and paperback. It was a very good feeling holding them in my hands and I am looking forward to getting the next ones.

At the moment I am busy with a little booklet and painting book for the company HARTMANN and new Wimmelposter for Verlag a. d. Ruhr. Next week I will start a new job (wooden toys) for Regnitz Werkstätten Erlangen. And I decided to go on vacation in August.

So, now you are up-to-date again and hopefully I will blog more often in the near future.

Vienna

Letzte Woche verbrachte Jürgen und ich in Wien. Nach anstregenden Monaten, in denen ich viel gearbeitet habe, hatte ich die Feiertage und ein bisschen Urlaub bitter nötig. Es war sehr kalt in Wien, aber auch gemütlich und schön.

Das Jahr 2008 war sehr ereignisreich für mich. Ich habe mein jetztiges Atelier bezogen. Es befindet sich auf dem ehemaligen AEG Gelände. Und umgezogen sind wir auch noch – im August. Außerdem bin ich Tante geworden. Meine kleine Schwester hat eine kleine Emily bekommen (Fotos siehe unten). Es sind auch traurige Sachen passiert: mein Patenkind Emma wurde zu früh geboren und etwa drei Wochen später verstarb sie in den Armen ihrer Mutter.

Im zweiten Halbjahr hatte ich sehr viele Aufträge. Ich durfte u.a. zwei englische Kinderbücher illustrieren, habe vier große Poster und zwei Kartensets für den Verlag an der Ruhr fertiggestellt, Weihnachtskarten entworfen, Probeillustrationen gezeichnet (mal schauen, was sich da noch so entwickelt) und natürlich meine regelmäßigen Witze- und Rätselillustrationen gestaltet.

Für das kommende Jahr wünsche ich mir weiterhin so attraktive Aufträge, aber auch Zeit meine eigenen Projekte zu verfolgen. Jürgen und ich haben relativ billig eine Druckpresse erworben, wir nennen sie Albrecht. Darauf möchte ich einige Holz- oder Linolschnitte drucken und zum Verkauf anbieten. Ich habe eine Idee für ein Bilderbuch und einen Kinderroman und habe vor kleine Geschichten zu schreiben. Gestern habe ich mich für einen Schreibkurs angemeldet.

Wintercards for the Stadt Nordhorn 2008

Vor etwa zwei Wochen habe ich die neuen Winterkarten für die Stadt Nordhorn beendet. Hier sehen Sie die Ergebnisse. Es handelt sich um ein fünfteiliges Kartenset, dass nicht nur "nett" aussieht, sondern auch zum Basteln, Spielen, Ausmalen und Rätseln anregen soll. Also ideal ist für einsame, kalte Winterabende.

Endlich schönes Wetter

I´m very happy that we have such a great weather now. Finally. Last days we spented our time with barbecues, walking in the "Fränkischen Schweiz" and drinking some cold delicious beers. Today I`m working again - but the windows of my studio are wide open - so it´s kind of being outside.

I am back

Last weeks I moved my studio – it was a lot of work – and I have some great jobs. I´m looking forward to showing you some new stuff. My studio has a lot of space and huge windows – it´s very bright. When I will have finished doing it up, I´ll post some photos of it. Above you can see sketches for a special monster postcard I´ve been working on.

Yesterday after a long walk with Jürgen in the sun I sew these little guys. It´s been a while since I´ve done some handicraft.

Today we hung up our pictures for the new exhibition. It was nice to see former student fellows again. Apart from postcards I made some badges, but I´m not satisfied with the result yet. I guess I need a better machine.

I´ve painted some old illustration work on canvas for our new exhibition that is starting next Monday. Here you can see some mushroomes. I call them Glückspilze.

Dornröschen (Sleeping Beauty) sleeping, dreaming and waiting for the prince´s kiss. This is defnitively a very exiting/romantic part of love and where most of Liebesfilme (Romantic Films) end.

Personal T-Shirts

Yesterday I printed some T-shirts for my friend´s children.

News

First I want to apologize that I haven´t written any comments for weeks ... but I´m going to catch up on later. I´m almost ready with my job I was working on and I hope I´ll still have the time to draw some christmas cards or tags.

Plans: I want to make some new felt characters. I haven`t sewn since christmas - I hope I haven´t forgotten how to do it - and I intent to renew my website and to have an etsy-shop. We´ll see.

Besides: I had a lot of fun with my old schoolmates Silli, Melli and Kerstin (we baked christmas cookies together). And I enjoyed teaching. I gave lessons to children (at a age of 6-10) and (that´s new) young adults that want to study graphic design/illustration ...

And I´m looking forward to ice-skating. Best wishes to all! Anja.

Here are some pictures (of my vernissage) taken by my friend Frauke and Papa. It was a nice evening and thanks to all for visiting.

Last weeks I had a cold and didn´t feel very good. That´s why I wasn´t in the mood to take part in IF... or to post. At the moment I´m working at a brandnew job. A job that is fun but also takes a lot of time. So I´m not sure if I have enough time or the power to draw christmas cards etc... Anyway I have some ideas in my head and I want to sew (again) some creatures.
